Polymer Roofing: From Talybont to Troon

Mon, 30/01/2017

A quick update on a couple of jobs this winter, which have taken us from Talybont deep in the heart of rural Ceredigion in Wales, up to coastal West Scotland, to the bustling town of Troon, famed for its golf course.

What was notable, aside from their distance from each other, was the difference between the jobs themselves: the one in Talybont was a refurbishment - a badly leaking roof which was relatively small, and a less straightforward "wraparound" shape; the other in Troon was a new build over a relatively large area (8 garage roofs) in a single rectangle.

Most non-chain roofers working with less flexible and slower systems, would struggle to reach two roofs so far apart, but the polymer system's speed of installation and adaptability means we can get to more or less any roof in the UK. It also means we can even work in between weather fronts, losing very little time. So no teams of roofers hanging around for weeks while the pounds tot up!

Usually, what you gain in speed you lose in quality, but polymer roofs offer very high specifications - in their case, quick does not mean shoddy, it means hugely more time-efficient.
