Copper Roof Alternative

Copper Alternative Spire and Roof, Llandrindod Wells

The Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells in Powys, Mid Wales is one of the town's main landmarks with a long history and great visitor appeal. Its patinated copper roof spires are an integral part of its traditional look and stately charm, but over the years they have worn and perished, their seams nearly disintegrating and the copper plates pocking and eroding.

Copper Alternative Trailer Coating in Cobham, Surrey

One of our more unusual requests!

This one was for a domed traditional style trailer roof/outer near Woking in Cobham, Surrey, which the owner wished to have coated using our verdi green copper-alternative system. The photographs show a step-by-step breakdown of the entire process from start to finish.

Copper Roof Theft at Welwyn Garden City

Around 50% of the copper roof had been stolen at the rear elevation of this Doctors' Surgery at Hall Grove in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Realising that simply renewing the copper was likely to result in further metal theft (owing to the single storey, semi-hidden location with rear access) AND that the insurance renewal excess would cost as much again as new copper roofing, the Practice Manager sourced us for an alternative...

Golders Green Copper Alternative Summer House Roof

The High Quality Theftproof Alternative to Copper Roofing

The roof of this gazebo summer house in Golders Green near Hendon Station in the London Borough of Barnet had originally been planned as a traditional (genuine) copper roof. The garden landscape designer's brief was for a high quality garden summer house - and in keeping with this the carpentry work for the hexagonal roof was of excellent workmanship.

Copper Roof Alternative following theft at Oliver Bird Hall, Solihull

Copper roofing theft had caused considerable damage to the roof of the Oliver Bird Hall in Solihull, a community hall in a conservation area near Birmingham in the West Midlands.

The Local Council granted planning permission for the rear elevation roof to be coated in liquid membrane. Unusually, the decision was then made to remove the entire roof, allowing work to progress easily and without the need for scaffolding.

Keir Hardie Methodist Church in Newham, London: a 'copper' roof that won't get stolen

After its copper roofing was stolen for the fourth time, the Keir Hardie Methodist Church decided to opt for a copper roof alternative and chose our 20 year guaranteed system.

To begin with, the roof was boarded out, ready to receive the fibreglass and liquid membrane; but after the tarpaulin was removed, the extent of the damage became clear (Note the lower roof damage: the damage has stretched the welts of the copper panels, causing them to leak as well).

New build copper alternative roof in Uxbridge, Greater London (conservation area)

For this new build roof in a conservation area in Uxbridge, Greater London, the owners opted for a copper alternative roof. For them, the aesthetic requirements were crucial, as they had to ensure that their new home's roof would fit in with the surrounding area and be acceptable to the authorities. They also wanted something modern, long lasting, fireproof, and of course waterproof and weatherproof!

Copper roof alternative at Aberystwyth University

Aberystwyth University decided that their copper roof was in need of replacement and chose our liquid polymer roofing system as a reliable, great looking, long-lasting alternative to a whole new copper roof. The Verdi Green 20-year reinforced liquid membrane roofing system over-coats the roof to create an immaculate jointless and sealess finish!

As the pictures show, the result is a beautiful roof that looks fresh and contemporary, and fits in with the rest of the building and with the surrounding area.
