With the cost of living biting hard for most of us, we thought we should dedicate our usual 'SPOTLIGHT ON:' newspiece to that, instead of a particular job.

Many people are struggling hugely and if we can offer help, we want to – after all, your home's roof is one of its most critical parts and if it needs fixing, it needs fixing! 

Roofs are notoriously expensive – size, difficulty of access, material costs and labour costs all mount quickly and even one extra day of work because of bad weather or unforeseen problems, when there's a whole team to pay, can leave you seriously out of pocket. When you don't have the money, that just doesn't work.

On the other hand, cheap alternatives can often mean shoddy materials, poor workmanship or more frequent replacement of the roof (simply because cheaper materials often don't last as long). If you happen to own a metal roof, such as lead or copper, you may also have to contend with theft, sometimes many times over.

• Its flexibility makes it suitable for nearly any roof: warm, cold, flat, pitched, unusually-shaped, as large as a factory or as small as a porch. It's also 'perfect-forming' round details, meaning pipes and skylights are no problem. Need an inbuilt gravitational drainage system or an anti-slip balcony? The polymer system can do more or less whatever the roofers who work with it are capable of doing!

All this and polymer roofing is also one of the few industries that reuses spent plastic polymer particles, preventing them from ending up in soil, rivers and seas.
