This flat roof area in Upton, Northampton included well constructed internal parapet wall detailing. Despite the excellent workmanship, however, the occasional need to stand up to excessive rainfall and high winds had not been factored into the design, meaning that the outside edges (7m2 per elevation) were pouring too much rain water onto the window sills below.

The last picture shows the pitch alteration making all the rain water fall correctly to the outlet, with a new 200m deep profile edge and detail mastering the edge, eliminating the overspill problem. The versatility of the polymer roofing system meant that this could be achieved without changing the look of the existing parapet wall and without appearing to change the design of the wall when viewed from below.

To ensure the flat roof area remains fully waterproof and weatherproof, it was coated with our 15 year fibreglass reinforced system.
