A Look at Polymer Balconies, Patios and Terraces

Sun, 28/04/2019

Balconies and roof terraces are enjoying a resurgence in Britain right now, with more and more people needing growing space or just somewhere to sit outdoors. There are many surfacing materials available, including fibreglass, tiles, decking and plain concrete, but increasing numbers are choosing the flexibility and affordability of polymer balcony systems, which are high-spec, low maintenance, safe, personalisable and long-lasting.

The polymer system has many advantages over its rivals - it adheres to nearly any substrate, is quick to install and is perfect for hard-to-reach areas, meaning we can reach nearly any roof in the UK, including the Highlands, Islands and those roofs deemed "difficult to access".

It is also fast-curing, "perfect forming" around even the most complicated details, and jointless and seamless, meaning an end to leaks, even when the balcony is reaching end of life, something that won't happen for at least 10-25 yrs depending on the system you choose.

On request balconies and patios can also incorporate pigmented quartz (our range includes more than 20 colours), and anti-skid grit comes as standard.

Take a look at our previous balcony projects to see some of the amazing transformations we've achieved. From this unusual 7 sided balcony in Bude, Cornwall to an entire beach front development in Troon on the coast of Scotland, to this multi-area patio terrace refurb in Kensington, Central London, no job is too large or too small, or too difficult to blend with the local environment.

All this and the polymer system is one of the few industries that reuses spent plastic polymers that would otherwise end up in soils, rivers and seas.
